The Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors (CBOD) welcomes Yaw Koduah Sarpong as its new Board Chairman, succeeding Ivy Apea Owusu, whose tenure has been marked by outstanding leadership and industry advancements. Yaw, a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in the Oil and Gas sector, brings a wealth of expertise in Accounting, Finance, and Taxation. He is the Founder of NYKS Group Ltd and currently serves as the CEO of SA Energy Ltd, an affiliate Bulk Distribution Company. His leadership extends across multiple industries, holding directorships in Paradise Havens Estate Ltd, Ladybird Logistics Ltd, and Transroyal Commodities Ltd.
A Chartered Accountant, Yaw has further honed his skills with specialised training in Negotiation and Competitive Decision-Making from Harvard Business School and Influence and Negotiation Strategies from Stanford University. Before transitioning into the petroleum industry, he worked as a Tax and Legal Consultant at Ernst & Young Ghana. His extensive experience and strategic insights position him well to lead CBOD into its next phase, focusing on sustainability, efficiency, and industry growth.
Taking over from Ivy Apea Owusu, Yaw steps into a role previously held by a transformational leader. As CEO of Cirrus Oil Services Limited, Ivy has played a pivotal role in shaping Ghana’s downstream petroleum deregulation policies while also championing health and education initiatives, with over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. In 2022, she was named one of the 100 outstanding female executives in the African Oil & Gas Industry by African Shapers. In 2024, she received a trailblazer award as a longstanding woman in leadership in the downstream sector at the Ghana Downstream Gala and Awards Night.
